What is included in the service fee?
A service fee is an industry standard term which is not a gratuity. Simply put it is part of the fee that covers all of our expenses. Generally the service fee allows us to pay our employees including servers and bartenders (who are usually tipped employees) a wage that does not require them to be tipped.
Is there a gratuity?
Gratuity is not included or required. All staff for events are paid a wage that allows them to work without the need for a gratuity. Some clients who feel the staff went well above and beyond their expectations leave a gratuity directly with the staff. Back of House and Front of House staff do appreciate when it occurs but they are not expecting it.
I am looking to book a block of hotel rooms for our guests. Which hotels do you recommend?
Are we able to bring sparklers for a send-off at the end of the evening?
As pretty as they may look sometimes venues, including Olde Homestead, have found them extremely dangerous to the bride and groom, guests, clothing and the venue. It is not something that is allowed.
Am I able to bring alcohol and food into the bridal suite while getting ready?
No, all food and beverage must be provided by Olde Homestead Golf Club. Our Liquor license governed by the PA Liquor Control Board mandates that all alcoholic beverages be provided and controlled by Olde Homestead Golf Club. Likewise there are no shots allowed during an open bar. Our Insurance mandates that all food (except baked goods) are provided by Olde Homestead Golf Club and we must ensure all Servsafe food protocols are followed for all foodservice at the facility.
I am having a hard time finding a good vendor that I can trust. Do you have any recommendations?
While we do not maintain an official list of preferred vendors—due to the nature of many such lists being commercially driven—we are pleased to share the names of professionals with whom we have had the privilege of collaborating in the past. These individuals and companies have consistently demonstrated professionalism and quality in their work. We would be happy to provide you with their contact information upon request.
